LOOSEN UP REMIX EP COMING SOON!
We have always had a vested interest in cross-overs in music, remixes and collaborations between artists and view it as a healthy thing. As a band we all listen to a fair amount of electronic music and this was especially true since the start of our time running the Dirty Hearts Club club-night.
So recently we decided we should take the stems from the masters of some of the albums tracks and ask some of our favorite people to do a version each with their own particular slants. The first results of this will be released in June in the form of our first Remix EP based on the album track “Loosen Up”. For this one we have managed to secure the services and creative wizardry of Discopolis, JD Twitch of the legendary Optimo, Fiction and Funky Transport.
Discopolis have turned the track into a pretty snazzy, dreamy blissed out shoegaze-house track. These guys are tipped well to the top so to take the time out to do our track and to do such a good job is truly special.
Optimo’s mixtapes, aesthetic and eclectic style were the reason that Steven had the influence/ confidence to start an eclectic night such as the DHC (Dirty Hearts Club). Furthermore, Optimos DJ mixes/ podcasts have introduced many a new sound, band or idea to our ears. So when we approached JD Twitch to do a remix and he even replied let alone took the time to do one, we were needless to say = chuffed.
Fiction are two very promising young lads from Aberdeen who have their ear to the ground and are certainly carving out a rising name for themselves with their music. Their take on our track is very different to what we expected and has grown to be a firm favourite in the LKs camp.
Finally, capping off the EP is a remix from legendary house producer Funky Transport (AKA Iain Macpherson) who co-incidentally produced our first album. So its a nice touch that we can work with Iain again and his slant on the track really takes it to a different place from the others. Employing some really nifty vocal loops and nice rhythmic intricacies to great effect.
You will be able to stream the tracks shortly HERE and also buy direct direct from I-Tunes, Bandcamp and more very soon (4th June).
